Lara grew up in Dallas, Texas. She trained with the Dallas Fort Worth Ballet and Ballet Austin. While still in Texas, she performed as a soloist in the Appreciate Jazz festival at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth and also performed in a season with the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas.
She continued her training at Abilene Christian University, in West Texas, earning her BFA in Theatre, and moving to New York City shortly after graduation.
Lara just recently finished touring with Hugh Jackman in Australia as a soloist in his arena tour, Hugh Jackman: Broadway to Oz. She is currently in Chicago on Broadway.
Lara lives in New York City with her husband, Andrew.
